Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that defies conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of banned practices and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden cult.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Content
This update also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime series. The series previously showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that obviously nodded to the popular series One-Punch Man.
