Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a source provided information indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting Maxwell with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unknown, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her private aide.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether he had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or agents have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.
